Domestic Adoption Program Information

“Domestic” adoption is a term we use when we assist with the placement of a child within the U.S. FAC provides services to parents/expectant parents who may wish to explore the option of adoption for a child. If you are considering adoption for your child, we know you will have many questions and concerns. Please contact us to schedule an appointment--we will meet at your home, at our office, or at a location that is convenient and comfortable for you. We will provide information about what you can expect to happen if you decide adoption is the best plan for your child. We provide you with assistance and support until your child is born and you have made a decision whether you will raise your child yourself, or choose other parents to adopt and raise your child. FAC also provides services to individuals and couples who wish to adopt a child through the agency’s domestic adoption programs. We assist prospective adoptive parents adopt infants, and we also assist parents adopt waiting children who need a family of their own. It is our philosophy that birth parents and the adoptive parents should have as many choices as possible as they experience the adoption process. We are here to provide information, support, and our expert assistance as we all work together to achieve the best possible plan for children. We work to ensure that everyone’s rights are protected. You will choose whether you want an adoption that will be completely “open”, somewhat open or “closed”—the choice is yours, not ours. We are there to assist birth parents and adoptive parents develop and maintain the relationship that will best serve the needs of the child they all love.
