When we started:

 

  • Opened in 1982 in Michigan
  • Expanded by opening Ohio office in 1988
  • Partnership with Korea Social Service to place Korean children began in 1986
  • Accredited by Philippine Intercountry Adoption Board to place Filipino children for adoption in 1992
  • Accredited by China Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA) in 1994
  • Approved for placement of special needs children from China in 2009
  • Domestic placement of identified infants and families was developed in Michigan in 1989
  • Domestic placement of children in custody of the state of Michigan was initiated in 2010

 

What we do:

 

  • Help families (singles and couples) find the right adoption program for their family
  • Provide comprehensive support services in partnership with adoptive families - before, during and after the adoption
  • Offer personal service with accessible administrative and social work staff
  • Help with all the paperwork
  • Communicate honestly and openly with adoptive families, sharing all information
  • Openly disclose all adoption program fees (no hidden agency costs)
  • Educate and prepare adoptive parents for the challenges that lie ahead
  • Provide adoption and cultural training that meets and/or exceeds Hague mandated guidelines
