Waiting Children
I had the great pleasure and privilege to escort this very special little girl to the United States and place her in the arms of her new Mommy and Daddy. During the months FAC was seeking a family for Hye In, and then waiting for all of the steps of the adoption process to be completed, many people inquired about her. We appreciate the great concern that was expressed for this little girl and thank all of you for your interest and good wishes. FAC would like to specifically express our gratitude to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association. PWSA provided information and assistance so that we could learn important facts about Prader-Willi Syndrome, which was invaluable as we sought the right family for Hye In. Hye In’s adoptive family learned about her through the PWSA, so this wonderful organization deserves credit for the fact that she is now part of a great family!

Sang Hyun has been in the care of Korea Social Service since birth. He weighed 7.2 lbs. at birth, and had some early health concerns including arrhythmia with bradycardia and thick meconium staining. He recovered well with incubator care and was released from the hospital within a week. Sang Hyun’s birth mother was 21 years old at the time of his birth and resided in an unmarried mother’s home during the last part of her pregnancy.

Waiting Children: Sponsorship

Waiting Children
Many children in the care of FAC's sister agencies overseas wait to be adopted or will never be adopted. Often, children with medical issues that are inconclusive wait for adoption until questions about their prognosis are resolved. Other children wait for an adoptive family because of the severity of their medical needs.

Families in the U.S. who are interested in sponsoring these children are needed. Sponsorship can help the agency in the foreign country defray some of the costs of keeping a child in care. Sponsorship is easy and is a wonderful way to offer your support. A minimum $25 per month qualifies you for photos and updated information quarterly. Contact FAC Kalamazoo for more information at 269-343-3316 or email Theresa@facadopt.org
